Overview
Caramelman and Asian Kung-Fu Generation created this cd while they were still Indies bands. Its a split track album meaning that half the songs are by Caramelman. The other half are by Asian Kung-Fu Generation.
My Review of the CD
This is another of AKGs ancient cds that I have been dying to get my hands on :) The mini-album starts off with the song
Sexy Eddy, a 46 second instrumental piece. I am unsure who played that song, but my guess is that it was done by Caramelman since this is a split track mini-album. The mini-album then moves quickly into a song called
There is hope by AKG. This song rocks! I think it needs to be re-recorded and introduced to new AKG fans :) After
There is Hope is the song
Love by Caramelman. Its a very upbeat, short song that lasts about a minute. I found that Caramelman is incredibly similar to AKG! There is only a slight difference in their vocals.
The fourth track of the mini-album is AKGs song
Ao no Uta! I had a really good time listening to this version and comparing it to re-recorded version on
Houkai Amplifier. The only big difference is that this version has a weaker chorus and the vocals are a bit rough. Besides that, its still one great song. It makes me happy to know that it was later re-recorded too! The last track on this cd is
Baby Sleep Tonight by Caramelman. Its a nice catcy song, but only lasts for 2 minutes!
Overall I really enjoyed listing to this split mini-album. Time wise, its really short because all of Caramelman's songs don't last more than 2 minutes! Content wise though, this was awesome! The songs are fast paced, catchy, and fun to listen to. Below are some specific comments about each song:
Track Listing
1. Sexy Eddy (9/10)
Awesome intro song with some great guitar parts! It also reminds me a little bit of surfing :)
2. There is Hope (10/10)
What a awesome song! It has a catchy beat and really reminds me of AKGs latest works. Highly suggest this song!
3. Love (8/10)
A really fast paced song by Caramelman. My only objection is that its too short!
4. Ao no Uta (9/10)
I have always loved this song and was surprised to find it on this older cd. This is another must listen to song :D
5. Baby Sleep Tonight(8.5/10)
Another song by Caramelman. Its a fast paced song and reminds me a bit of Ellegarden's style of music.
